The world of the Beatles and Alexander McQueen goes beyond tourism. London is a city full of drama, from theatres to everyday life. Here, inspiration abounds in the smallest shapes and results in one persons epiphany regarding handbags.
London is the urban fashion capital of the world! Most influential urban trends start in the aisles of Camden Market or the streets of Petticoat Lane. Apparently this age in which we live is all about what ‘works’... suddenly brown and pink is no longer a fashion foe-pa. Now winter white is the new black, leading many of us to reanalyze that Labor Day deadline. Fashion randomly adjusts from office to tube to club to home. The fact is that fashion has become a form of self-expression reaching beyond our six foot cubicle. The way most Londoners get around that office suit is to add fabulous accessories and now that accessory goes beyond the best little black bag.
The point is to be functional and creative. If that perfect bag is beyond your financial means what good does it do you? If the bag you have won’t allow you to carry all your necessities how do you decide what to leave at home?
These are the questions I asked myself before sitting down to the 'drawing board' to define what I thought was creative practicality. Thus was born both the M tote and the Hourglass handbag and the start of aleshabeth designs.
